Armenian Ministry of Defense Announces Termination of Arms Supply Contract
The Armenian Ministry of Defense has terminated the arms supply contract with the Jordanian company Jadara Equipment & Defense Systems Co.
A letter signed by Deputy Minister of Defense Karen Brutyan was published on the website of the Ministry of Finance on Wednesday. According to the letter, the contract signed on August 6, 2021, between the Ministry of Defense of Armenia and Jadara Equipment & Defense Systems Co. was supposed to ensure the supply of goods, but this was not executed.
"Based on the terms of the contract, the Ministry of Defense of Armenia is unilaterally terminating the contract," stated the letter from the Deputy Minister of Defense.
The Ministry of Defense has notified the Jordanian company that it must pay a fine of 23 million drams (approximately 57,000 dollars) within five days.
Earlier, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan had repeatedly stated that some partners have not completed the arms supply under already paid agreements.
