US Calls on UN Security Council Regarding North Korea's Missile Launches

The United States and several countries have requested a UN Security Council meeting on Friday in response to the recent missile launches by North Korea, a source from the Security Council informed RIA Novosti.

“Several countries, including the United States, have requested a UN Security Council meeting on Friday regarding the DPRK’s launches,” the source stated.

It was previously reported that North Korea launched at least three different types of missiles towards the Sea of Japan and the Yellow Sea. Notably, the missiles fell very close to South Korean waters, 57 kilometers from Sokcho.

The coast guard warns of the danger of ships colliding with missile debris.

Following the reports of North Korea's missile launches, Japan has convened its National Security Council. According to some reports, the number of missiles could reach ten.

As reported by TASS, citing Reuters, South Korea has launched 'air-to-ground' missiles in response to North Korea's actions.
