Lavrov Appeals to the UN

The Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov expressed satisfaction during a press conference with his Jordanian counterpart, stating that thanks to Turkey's efforts, the Ukrainian authorities have provided written guarantees that maritime humanitarian routes in the Black Sea will not be used for military purposes.

Lavrov also called on UN Secretary-General António Guterres to fulfill the commitments outlined in the grain export deal concerning Russian exports. This was reported by the TASS agency.

"As you know, the implementation of the Ukrainian part of the deal has resumed. However, we still do not see any results regarding the second part of the package proposed by UN Secretary-General Guterres, which aims to eliminate all obstacles to the export of Russian fertilizers and grain," the Russian Foreign Minister stated.

Lavrov emphasized that serious measures must be taken soon concerning Russian exports. According to a Reuters report, seven ships loaded with agricultural goods have left Ukrainian Black Sea ports after the agreement regarding the export of Ukrainian grain has resumed. A total of 290,000 tons of food has been sent to European and Asian countries.

According to the agency, the price of grain on the global market has sharply decreased following Russia's announcement of its return to the agreement. Earlier, the Russian Ministry of Defense had announced that Moscow was returning to the agreement because it received written guarantees from Ukraine that the grain corridor would not be used for military operations against Russia.
