Pashinyan Responds to Lukashenko, But It's Not Right to Publish the Video: Simonian

The President of the National Assembly of Armenia, Alen Simonian, is not sure that Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko is expressing his own thoughts. He shared his opinion during a briefing with reporters in the National Assembly.

"I regret that I have to respond, because I did not see any seriousness in his statements. I even have concerns that the thoughts he expressed do not really belong to him," said the Speaker of the National Assembly.

When asked by reporters whose thoughts Belarus's president was expressing, Alen Simonian replied, "I don't know whose they are; maybe they are from Moscow, maybe from Baku, maybe from Almaty, but they are not his own."

In his opinion, Lukashenko has serious internal political problems, and the people of Belarus have also not welcomed his statements.

Reporters were curious as to why Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan did not respond adequately to Lukashenko's remarks. "There has been a response; it just isn’t right to present the recording to the public," he said.

It should be noted that during the extraordinary CSTO meeting, Lukashenko stated that Azerbaijan is not an enemy or adversary for the CSTO member states, and it would not be right to pit the CSTO against Azerbaijan. He emphasized that Azerbaijan is currently led by 'our man, Ilham Aliyev.' The Belarusian president also added that both Azerbaijan and Armenia are 'brotherly' countries for Belarus, and the conflict between the two countries must be resolved completely through peaceful means.
