Trolleybuses in Kyiv to be Replaced by Buses to Save Electricity

In Kyiv, trolleybuses will be replaced by buses to conserve electricity, announced Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko.

It was noted that to reduce the electrical load, trolleybus routes will be operated by buses starting November 2. “Starting tomorrow, November 2, all trolleybus routes in the capital will operate with buses. We are doing this to reduce the load on the energy system and save electricity,” Klitschko wrote on his Telegram channel.

The mayor also announced the readiness to establish more than 1,000 heating points for residents in Kyiv, should the city face a complete halt in the supply of water and electricity. Ukrainian officials stated that Russia began missile strikes on Ukraine's energy facilities on October 10. On October 28, Vitali Klitschko reported that electricity shortages in Kyiv had reached 50%.
