Azerbaijan Does Not Want to Fix the Borders of Armenia: Edmon Marukyan
The Special Representative of Armenia, Edmon Marukyan, discussed the meeting between Prime Minister Pashinyan, President Putin, and President Aliyev that took place in Sochi yesterday in an interview with CivilNet. He stated, 'The Prague declaration was reaffirmed in Sochi, which is acceptable for the Armenian side. Azerbaijan's plan was to either change or eliminate the agreements reached in Prague during the Sochi meeting. However, the Armenian side was able to justify that the statement confirmed in Prague does not contradict all the previous trilateral statements. Azerbaijan does not want there to be specificity on any issue, while the Prague statement recognizes mutual borders.' He added that Azerbaijan does not want to fix the borders of Armenia.
Marukyan also noted that Armenia has insisted until the end that the status of Artsakh be included in the document, but Azerbaijan has not agreed to this. In response to a journalist's observation that 'something that is supported by Moscow and Yerevan can be neutralized by Baku,' Marukyan replied, 'It is capable of ensuring that it is not included in the document.'
