Attempts by the West to Isolate Russia Were Not Successful: Mishustin

Attempts by the West to isolate Russia were unsuccessful; instead, they only accelerated the process of transforming the system of international relations. The country will continue to develop dialogue with countries in Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America, giving significant attention to strengthening cooperation within the EAEU and CIS, said Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin.

“Attempts to isolate Russia have been unsuccessful. On the contrary, they have only accelerated the transformation processes of the entire system of international relations. Now the role of states and regions that were previously simply ignored is significantly increasing. We will continue to strengthen effective cooperation with countries in Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America. The absolute priority is, of course, cooperation in the Eurasian Economic Union and the CIS space,” Mishustin stated.

The Prime Minister believes that foreign Russian communities and the constituent entities of the Russian Federation should play a significant role in this context, especially since “in the current situation, our citizens and compatriots are demonstrating responsibility and solidarity.”

“We can see mutual interest in strengthening business ties between compatriots and Russian businesses, regions, and entrepreneurial entities of the state. The request for the development of such dialogue sounded at the seventh World Congress of Compatriots held in Moscow in October of last year,” Mishustin explained.
