The Homeland Party Issues a Statement
The Homeland Party's statement reads: "The statement issued by the National Assembly of the Republic of Artsakh on October 30 of this year is of utmost importance for the long-term security of the two Armenian states and our nation.
Considering that the statement expresses a united position of all political forces in the Artsakh Parliament regarding the Nagorno-Karabakh issue, that is to say, essentially the unanimous opinion of the representative body of the entire people of the Republic of Artsakh, all actors in the international community, while carrying out their mediatory mission aimed at resolving the relations between the Republics of Armenia and Azerbaijan, should accept the impossibility of the existence of the Republic of Artsakh and its people within the framework of the Republic of Azerbaijan—given the totalitarian, inhuman, and genocidal nature of the Baku regime—as a starting point for resolving the Nagorno-Karabakh issue. This includes the recognition of the already realized inalienable right of the people of Artsakh to self-determination outside of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Dozens of thousands of Artsakh residents, gathered at Renaissance Square in Stepanakert, have given exceptional legitimacy and popularity to the statement of October 30, as a result of which, in accordance with the text of the statement, no authority of the Republic of Armenia has the right and cannot refuse to be the guarantor of Artsakh’s security and the pan-Armenian mission of fighting for the international recognition of Artsakh’s right to self-determination outside of Azerbaijan.
The Homeland Party, reaffirming its commitment to the principles enshrined in the Declaration of Independence of the Republic of Armenia and the decision of the Supreme Council of July 8, 1992, which it considers a pan-Armenian overriding and eternal value, declares: We will continue our uncompromising struggle for the international recognition of the people of the Republic of Artsakh’s right to self-determination and the full restoration of their security, for which the key player, with the support of allied and friendly states, should once again be the Republic of Armenia. The Armenian-friendly solution to the Artsakh issue is a crucial and integral component of the security architecture of the Republic of Armenia, vital for the existence and honor of all segments of the Armenian people residing in Armenia, Artsakh, and the Diaspora. Therefore, it rises above any differences in the party or political sphere, a realization that should drive all healthy national forces to fight for the security and further powerful existence of the Republics of Armenia and Artsakh on a non-partisan fundamental basis."
