Armenian Figure Skater Wins Second Stage of Russia's Grand Prix

Armenian figure skater Adelia Petrosyan has triumphed at the second stage of the Russia Grand Prix held in Sochi.

Petrosyan scored a total of 239.31 points (78.92 for the short program and 160.39 for the free program). Sofia Samodulkina took second place, while Alexandra Trusova finished third.

The winners of the stages will receive 500,000 rubles in prize money, the silver medalists will get 300,000 rubles, and bronze medalists will earn 200,000 rubles.

Adelia has stated that she is unsure how she will manage the prize money. “I am not planning anything yet, nor am I thinking about the prize. It’s not the main goal. Most likely, I will have a day off, meet my grandmother, and have a good sleep. I think I will sleep for 9-10 hours,” Petrosyan mentioned in a conversation with reporters.

The figure skater described her performance in the free program as excellent but added that not everything went perfectly. “I am happy that I did my best on the ice and that everything went somewhat well. I had planned three quadruple jumps, but I was still considering declaring just two in case something went wrong at the start,” Petrosyan stated.

The Grand Prix series includes six competitions, which will take place in Moscow (twice), followed by Sochi, Kazan, Samara, and Perm.
