Pashinyan Responds to Lukashenko
During the 6th Congress of the party held at the Karen Demirchyan Sports and Concert Complex in Yerevan, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan addressed the statement by Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko during the CSTO extraordinary session, in which he remarked that Azerbaijan is a friendly country.
“One of the leaders says, ‘well, Azerbaijan is our close country,’ and so on, but I said that this is not about emotions. One can love one and be less fond of another, one can feel closer to someone; this is about the contractual obligations of the CSTO, about the law. How much one loves another is absolutely irrelevant; there is a created situation...” Pashinyan stated, also noting that he had said the same during the session.
It is noteworthy that an extraordinary CSTO meeting was convened yesterday at Yerevan's initiative. During the meeting, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko declared that Azerbaijan is not an enemy of the CSTO member states.
