Will the U.S. Continue to Support Ukraine After the Elections?

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has expressed confidence that even if the Republicans win the upcoming midterm elections in November, Washington will continue to provide significant assistance to Kyiv.

“I am confident that even after the midterm elections in Congress, there will be a clear majority in the House of Representatives and the Senate to continue extensive support for Ukraine,” Stoltenberg said in an interview with the European publication Politico.

Earlier, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken had expressed similar views.

It is worth noting that on November 8, 2022, the midterm elections for both chambers of the U.S. Congress will take place. Americans will need to re-elect the entire House of Representatives and one-third of the Senate. Currently, both the legislative and executive branches in the U.S. are under Democratic control.
