Medvedev States Which ‘Outcome’ is Acceptable for Russia
Any ‘outcome’ is acceptable for Russia as long as it does not contradict the fundamental interests of the country as the successor state of the Russian Empire and the USSR, and as long as neighboring countries do not join hostile military blocs aimed against it, stated Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council.
In his Telegram channel, Medvedev spoke about the international situation. He wrote that every country prioritizes the most important issues: the protection of its citizens and state independence. According to Medvedev, this protection can occur not only within one’s own territory but also in other territories, provided there are grounds for it.
“The reasons are quite obvious—terrorism and the killing of citizens of this country. In other words, every country has the right to use military force to protect its citizens endangered even in foreign territories. This right includes preventive, proactive measures to prevent the further killings of its citizens, genocide, and other crimes,” he wrote.
Additionally, Medvedev noted that no one questions the results of World War II, but it should be considered that history moves forward incessantly.
