Georgia Meloni Sworn In as Italy's First Female Prime Minister

Georgia Meloni has been sworn in as Italy's first female prime minister. The ceremony was broadcast by Rai News.

Also sworn in were 24 ministers, six of whom are women, representing the "Brothers of Italy," "League," and "Forward, Italy" parties.

On October 21, Meloni received the mandate to form the Italian government.

The "Brothers of Italy" is a right-wing political party founded in 2012. Until December 3, 2017, it was known as "Brothers of Italy – National Alliance."
