Americans are Contradictory in Their Words and Behavior: Iranian Foreign Minister
Americans are eager to reach an agreement with Iran as soon as possible, Iran's Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian announced on Saturday, confirming that Tehran received a new message from Washington three days ago. This was reported by the IRNA news agency.
Commenting on statements from American officials that negotiations on the lifting of sanctions are off the table, the Iranian minister told reporters after a meeting with the Prime Minister of Armenia in Yerevan, "Americans are contradictory in their words and behavior, and they seek to reach an agreement through their messages."
"Three days ago we received a message from the U.S. stating that accusations against Iran's nuclear program by the IAEA must be removed, and we are not ready to sign an agreement," the minister said.
Criticizing the contradictory behavior and statements of the Americans, Iran's foreign minister stated that the Americans continue to exchange messages with Iran but are trying to incite events within the country. "They want to apply political pressure on Iran to reach a compromise in negotiations," he added.
"We will not make concessions to the American side and will act within the logic and framework of an agreement that respects the red lines of the Islamic Republic, but at the same time, we will never leave the negotiating table," Amir-Abdollahian emphasized. According to him, the public positions of the American side have differed in recent days due to their internal usage.
