28 Individuals Indicted for Obtaining Driver's Licenses through Bribery
The Anti-Corruption Court has issued an indictment against 28 individuals for illegally obtaining driver's licenses in exchange for bribes. This information was provided by the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office.
According to the statement, the 28 individuals have been found guilty of the aforementioned crime and are subject to various fines. "The Prosecutor General's Office will file a request with the police, in accordance with the procedure established by the Law on the Fundamentals of Administrative Proceedings, to annul the driver's licenses unlawfully obtained by citizens," the announcement stated.
It is noteworthy that the National Security Service's investigative department had initiated a criminal case that was examined by the Anti-Corruption Committee, accusing citizens of giving a total bribe of approximately 3 million drams to an inspector from the Yerevan Registration-Examination Division of the Traffic Police through an intermediary to unlawfully acquire driver's licenses. They are charged under the article concerning particularly large-scale bribery.
The prepared indictment was confirmed by the supervising prosecutor's decision and sent to the court.
