Gagik Khachatryan's Sons Reach Agreement on Sale of $63.5 Million Mansion

The former head of the State Revenue Committee and former Minister of Finance, Gagik Khachatryan's sons have reached a preliminary agreement to sell their lavish mansion in the United States, valued at $63.5 million, but the deal has yet to be finalized. This was reported by Hetq.am.

It is worth noting that American prosecutors are seeking to seize this property through the courts, claiming it was acquired through illegal means.

In 2011, the elder son of Khachatryan, Gurgen, along with “Veto Trust” managed by him, purchased one of the luxurious homes in the Holmby Hills neighborhood of Westwood, Los Angeles, for $14.4 million (address: 530 South Mapleton Drive). In 2017, the Khachatryans built a new house at this address, boasting a living area of 3,126 square meters and a total area of 5,224 square meters.

The two-story new villa features 11 bedrooms, 27 bathrooms, a dining room, a family room, staff quarters, a home theater, a library, a media/music room, a leisure area, an office, a wine cellar, a basement, a garage, a laundry room, and a pool in the backyard.

In 2016, “Veto Trust” and its administrator, Ted Tadevos Khachatryan, transferred the mansion to “WRH,” a company he manages and which is registered in Los Angeles. Ted Khachatryan serves as the executive and financial manager, as well as the secretary of the company, with directors including Artyom and Gurgen Khachatryan. Despite the ownership records showing “WRH” as the owner, the actual owners are Gagik Khachatryan's sons.

On April 7 of this year, the mansion was listed for sale at $63.5 million. Shortly after, on May 2, the U.S. Department of Justice, under the direction of the U.S. Attorney General, filed a claim to seize the Khachatryan residence in California’s Central District Court, supported by American prosecutors.

The sale of the Khachatryans' home is being handled by “Hilton and Hyland” agency. Since April, the price of the property has remained the same at $63.5 million. However, interestingly, the agency's website no longer lists the property for sale.

Even more intriguing is the information available on various American sites dealing with real estate transactions, many of which indicate that the property is currently marked as “under contract,” “active under contract,” or “accepting backup offers,” suggesting that the Khachatryans have reached a written agreement with a potential buyer, but it is not final, meaning that interested buyers can still submit their offers.
