Urgent Appeal to International Partners, Azerbaijan Intends to Launch New Aggression - Tovmasyan

The Chairperson of the National Assembly's Standing Committee on Protection of Human Rights and Public Affairs, Taguhi Tovmasyan, stated on her Facebook page that she has made an urgent appeal to international partners to take practical measures to prevent a possible Azerbaijani attack.

“I have urgently contacted my international partners to undertake practical steps to prevent a possible Azerbaijani aggression. Recently, the tensions along the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, particularly in the Vardenis direction, indicate the dangers of a potential new assault by Azerbaijan. The Ministry of Defense of Armenia released a statement about the deployment and movement of additional forces and means by the Azerbaijani armed forces, which has created a certain level of tension. The Azerbaijani side continues to spread disinformation regarding the Armenian side's firing, possibly trying to create a pretext for their impending attack.

Given the seriousness of the situation and the potential new risks of destabilization, I have sent urgent letters to my international partners outlining the seriousness of the situation, the risks involved, and requested them to take practical measures to prevent new military aggression from Azerbaijan against Armenia. During my meeting with US Congress members yesterday, I shared this alarming signal, as well as several other urgent issues, and during our discussion, I raised the ‘SOS’ regarding Azerbaijan's intention to carry out a new aggression,” she emphasized.
