Aliyev and Raisi Clash: "Infoteka24"
The Lebanese portal kataeb.org has addressed the military exercises conducted by Iran along the northwestern borders in its publication, as reported by "Infoteka24." The article presents intriguing details about the meeting between the presidents of Iran and Azerbaijan in Astana.
It emphasizes that the Iranian exercises began a few days after French President Emmanuel Macron's statements suggesting that Russia has destabilized the South Caucasus and interfered in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict in favor of Azerbaijan.
In this context, a source from the website, who accompanied Raisi on his visit to Kazakhstan, mentioned that the meeting between Ibrahim Raisi and Ilham Aliyev did not take place in a friendly atmosphere; moreover, there was a dispute between the two leaders.
The dispute arose after Aliyev criticized the accumulation of Iranian forces near the Azerbaijani border, labeling it a threat to Baku's security.
Aliyev also reacted sharply when Raisi responded that the forces were deployed not for entertainment or drills, but to establish security and stability, and to combat any plans aimed at altering or cutting the border between Iran and Armenia, and if necessary, prepare for war.
Aliyev accused Raisi of providing military aid to Armenia to confront Azerbaijan. Raisi denied these accusations while accusing Aliyev of submission to the 'Zionists.' Additionally, Raisi criticized the visit of the Israeli Defense Minister to Baku.
It is also noted that Raisi accused Aliyev of supporting Azerbaijani separatists amid protests in Iran and creating media outlets for them. In response, Aliyev pointed out that Tehran has not abandoned the idea of exporting its revolution.
