U.S. Embassy in Armenia Responds to Document Circulating Online

Recently, an image of a document regarding the U.S.-Armenia-Azerbaijan trilateral negotiations surfaced online. The document reportedly outlines key points of the negotiations, including issues related to the signing of a peace treaty, communications between the population of Artsakh and Azerbaijani authorities, and the opening of transportation routes and communications.

In this context, Radar Armenia sent an inquiry to the U.S. Embassy in Armenia, asking whether the document circulating online is the same one that is on the negotiation table.

The embassy responded that they would refrain from commenting on the content, emphasizing that the negotiations are geared towards achieving peace and a better future. “While refraining from commenting on the content or discussing private diplomatic communications, it is important to remember that negotiations are dynamic processes. They do not take place on social media platforms. Negotiations are conducted in person, face-to-face, and occur between leaders who are dedicated to peace and a better future for their people. For this reason, we have continuously encouraged the leaders of both sides to meet and will continue to do so, aiming for a comprehensive peace process that benefits the region and its people,” the embassy stated in response to the inquiry.

It should be noted that the document in question was circulating online.
