Dumanyan Meets with Rector of Brusov University: What Was Discussed
The Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports, Vahram Dumanyan, met today with Karine Harutyunyan, the rector of the Valery Brusov State University. Rector Karine Harutyunyan announced during an expanded session of the university's scientific council that Dumanyan shared with her a project proposal from the government regarding the unification of three universities. She noted that she expressed to Minister Vahram Dumanyan the fundamental disagreement of faculty and students regarding the unification of the three institutions.
On October 12, the dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Services at Brusov University, Tsolak Akopyan, wrote on his Facebook page that a secret project is being circulated at the Ministry of Education, which involves closing the university. Following this news, hundreds of students from Brusov University declared a strike and began a protest action within the university grounds.
