Ministry of Defense Develops Program for Women

Numerous applications have been received from women. This was announced by the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Armenia, Suren Papikyan, during a Government meeting, noting that the letters raise issues of preparation.

"We already have a developed program, and the Ministry of Defense will issue a statement that female citizens of the Republic of Armenia can sign up and undergo firearms training at the appropriate shooting ranges," said Papikyan.

Papikyan also mentioned that there is a misconception in society regarding military service. "We associate the service only with combat duty. In reality, our focus should be on preparation. Combat preparation should play a significant role in the daily routine of contract servicemen," the minister emphasized.
