Viva-MTS Responds to Rumors of Company Sale
Viva-MTS (MTS Armenia) does not comment on rumors regarding the potential sale of the company. In response to a request from Sputnik Armenia, the press service referenced commercial confidentiality and did not provide any additional details.
“Based on Article 8, Part 1, Point 1 of the Republic of Armenia’s Law on Freedom of Information, the requested information cannot be provided as it constitutes a commercial secret of MTS Armenia,” the response stated.
Earlier, Civilnet.am reported that the company has been put up for sale for the past five months. According to the publication, there are two potential buyers: 1XBET (a betting company) and Gazprom.
It should be noted that on June 15, it was revealed that Ralph Yirikian, who led the organization since 2004, resigned. He has been replaced by Armen Avetisyan.
Additionally, it is worth mentioning that MTS Armenia is included among the top taxpayers in Armenia.
