Head of Kentron Administrative District Addresses Reports of Assault on Himself and Deputies
The head of the Kentron Administrative District, Samvel Ghukasyan, has issued a clarification regarding reports that he and his deputies were assaulted in their office, stating that the claims are false.
He specifically noted: "In response to the article published today in the 'Zhoghovurd' newspaper, I would like to inform you that the information does not correspond to reality. Such an incident did not occur. Following the publication on the news outlet's website, we also received calls from various journalists, which we have refuted. We urge not to turn fabricated materials into subjects of discussion for the broader public and to publish clarifications and denials as well."
It is worth recalling that according to information from the 'Zhoghovurd' newspaper, about a month ago, the head of the Kentron Administrative District and his deputies were assaulted in their office. The incident is linked to a playground located in Kentron, where residents have long requested the district head and deputies to improve their courtyard area, but no actions have been taken. About a month ago, several residents from the center of Yerevan visited the municipality to seek explanations. The conversation took place in the office of Deputy Mayor Romanos Safaryan and escalated when the deputy used inappropriate language, asking, "Are you making fun of us?" The residents clarified that they did not come for that purpose. This led to a scuffle with Deputy Mayor Romanos Safaryan, and the secretary urgently called for the other deputy mayor, Nikolay Saribekyan. Subsequently, the mayor, Samvel Ghukasyan, entered the room, and all involved sustained injuries right in the office," the newspaper reported.
