Concerns Raised Over Plans to Close Brusov State University

The Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Services at Brusov State University, Tsolak Hakobyan, posted on his Facebook page: "Yesterday it became clear that there is a secret project circulating in the Ministry of Education and Science, which proposes to close Brusov State University. For this 'democratic' government, it seems to have become a common practice to make important decisions in secrecy. By the way, yesterday, when the Board of Trustees was discussing the announcement of a competition for the selection of a Rector, representatives of the Government opposed the approval of the agenda, citing that a proposal regarding the merger of universities is currently under discussion. You can’t simply eliminate a university with a 90-year tradition with one decision,” wrote Hakobyan.
