Traffic Restored on Two Automotive Lanes of the Crimean Bridge: Khusnullin

Traffic on the two automotive lanes of the Crimean Bridge has been restored, reported Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Marat Khusnullin. “Previously, the bridge was operating in one lane in a return mode. Lighting on the roadway has been restored, new markings have been implemented, and the barriers have been reinstated. Now it will be possible to pass more quickly by car across the bridge,” Khusnullin wrote on his Telegram channel.

The Deputy Prime Minister clarified that the inspection of the damaged section of the bridge is still ongoing. He expressed gratitude to the construction workers who are working around the clock and the specialists from the power block who are assisting in organizing the restoration efforts of the bridge.

On October 8, a fuel-laden tanker exploded in one of the sections of the Crimean Bridge. Traffic on the bridge was halted as a result. The incident caused partial collapse of two automotive sections of the bridge; however, the arch above the navigable section of the bridge was not damaged.

It should be noted that Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin to establish a government commission to investigate the reasons for the emergency incident on the Crimean Bridge and to address the consequences.
