Lukashenko Bans Any Price Increases in Belarus

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has prohibited price increases in the country. He announced this during a meeting with the economic bloc regarding inflation, as reported by Belta.

“As of October 6, any price increase is banned. Not starting tomorrow, but starting today,” he stated. In June, the annual inflation rate in Belarus reached 17.6 percent. Compared to May, consumer prices in the country rose by 1.1 percent.
