The Grapes Will Not Stay on the Ground: Kerobyan
Vahan Kerobyan, the Minister of Economy, stated during a press conference that as a result of their efforts, 80% of grape growers have resolved their issues by July 1, and all have signed contracts. This was in response to the low procurement prices for grapes and the protests by grape growers.
“The other part of the issue has been postponed because some companies do not require state support programs and are moving forward with their own initiatives. Two major companies are involved: the Yerevan Brandy Company and the 'Noir' Brandy Company. These two companies have never utilized our programs and operate according to their policies. The majority of others have largely resolved their problems,” Kerobyan noted.
“Today, we are confident that there will be no issues related to volumes, meaning the grapes will not stay on the ground. We believe we have done everything possible regarding pricing,” Kerobyan added. He also mentioned that the government has a broader toolkit to address current issues for the next year.
