Most of the Shot Soldiers Were Not on the Previously Published List, Says Zohrapyan
Former MP Naira Zohrapyan stated during a press conference held at the 'Hayeli' club, "I don’t know if I have the right to speak about this, but I think I do. There was an initial assumption that the incident occurred in the positions near Jermuk, but no, it took place at the positions of Ishkhanasar. The identification of the 7-8 soldiers killed by fire from the enemy has not yet been completed, but most of them were not included in the list published by Nikol Pashinyan. This refers to a list consisting of 207 names and surnames."
Auroranews.am reached out to the Ministry of Defense to obtain the department's response regarding this information. They told us to send a written inquiry. We also tried to contact the representative for the interests of the prisoners of war, Siranush Sahakyan, but were unable to establish contact.
It is worth mentioning that the human rights defender confirmed that the incident occurred at one of the positions in Ishkhanasar, specifically on the 'Hovaz 1' height, where two soldiers were easily identified, while there are no difficulties with the others since the position they were in is known. The two identified soldiers were conscripts. The footage shows that there were 9 servicemen present at the position, of whom the shooting of 4 is visible in the video. However, there are also other Armenian captives visible in the circulated video.
According to Sahakyan, the list of those serving at the position should have been provided by the state, but they have delayed in this regard, probably so they could make a statement themselves. The human rights defender noted that they managed to obtain the list of those serving there by other means. She also mentioned that there is clear evidence that the 'Commando' unit was involved in the shooting of the captives, which is being trained by Turkish commanders. Consequently, it turns out that NATO member Turkey is involved in such atrocities.
