VIDEO. How the premiere of Hayk Marutyan's performance went. "Hraparak"

As it is known, due to the war, Hayk Marutyan canceled all performances in September. Yesterday, on October 1st, the premiere of the play "The Mayor" took place.

According to "Hraparak", Marutyan primarily focused on the atmosphere within the ruling Civil Contract party, the habits of its members, and the methods used for appointing and dismissing officials, openly criticizing all of it. One of the attendees noted that while criticizing the Civil Contract, Hayk Marutyan seemed to spare Nikol Pashinyan, instead mocking his former close friend, NA President Alen Simonian, quite harshly. It was also noted that the former Civil Contract mayor presented the sections dedicated to Robert Kocharyan in a more positive light, if not in a flattering manner. He also criticized the newly elected mayor, Hrachya Sargsyan.

As reported by the media, in the section dedicated to Pashinyan, for instance, Marutyan mocked him by recalling that he is compared to God, and even something higher. Listing the Ten Commandments, Marutyan reached the one that says "Thou shalt have no other gods before me," and stated, "Let’s say a thousand times that I have not met Kocharyan." Moreover, unlike in previous administrations where political humor and satire expressed as hints, which everyone understood was aimed at someone specific, in this performance, everything was almost open and transparent, which made it less interesting.
