Armenian Foreign Ministry Issues Statement
The Armenian Foreign Ministry's statement regarding the war crimes committed by the Azerbaijani Armed Forces:
“A number of videos continuously circulated by Azerbaijani users on social networks evidence the war crimes committed by the Azerbaijani Armed Forces, including extrajudicial executions of Armenian prisoners of war, torture of Armenian servicemen, including women, and the desecration of bodies. The Republic of Armenia demands a clear assessment of the glaring war crimes committed by the Azerbaijani Armed Forces during this and preceding periods. We will pursue raising this issue in international relevant platforms and courts, holding accountable the perpetrators and organizers of the aforementioned crimes, including through the application of international sanctions. In this context, the conduct of a proper international investigation is imperative. At the same time, the international community is obliged to increase pressure on Azerbaijan for the immediate repatriation of all Armenian prisoners of war and civilians unlawfully held in Azerbaijan, as well as for the clarification of the fates of the forcibly disappeared and missing persons.”
