Prime Minister on Meeting with Turkish President
Will there be a meeting with Erdogan in the Czech Republic? In an interview with public television, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan responded that neither Turkey nor Armenia has ruled out such a meeting, but that does not mean the meeting will take place.
“It depends on several factors, not only our direct relations,” Pashinyan said. The Prime Minister also informed that there is a broader event organized by the EU, to which both Armenia and Turkey are invited. “We need to decide on our participation in this summit and at what level, the second question is whether the meeting will take place or not,” he said.
Nikol Pashinyan announced that he has decided to travel to Prague to participate in the summit. When asked about Armenia's agenda for this meeting, the Prime Minister responded, “Opening of borders, normalization of relations.”
To the clarifying question of whether the issue of Artsakh will be discussed, Nikol Pashinyan replied, “When regional security issues are discussed, many questions will be raised. If it happens, it will be our first meeting, it will be a familiarity.”
Regarding the question of whether the meetings of the special representatives of the two countries continue, the Prime Minister stated that there is no signal or agreement indicating that the meetings are stopping, but at this moment there is no arrangement for the time and place of the next meeting.
