Sargsyan's Office Releases a Statement

The office of the third President of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan, has released a statement regarding the meeting of former Presidents of Armenia and the Catholicos.

“At the invitation of the Catholicos of All Armenians, following the meeting of the former presidents of the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Artsakh in the Mother Cathedral of Holy Etchmiadzin, we respond to media inquiries expecting a public reaction from the third President of the Republic of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan:

In the current geopolitical and regional situation, concerning the dangers, severe challenges, and threats surrounding the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Artsakh, as well as possible solutions to these issues, the position of the third President of the Republic, Serzh Sargsyan, has been expressed in his interviews, messages, and statements made by the political force he leads, which align with the current situation.

President Sargsyan believes that at this stage, discussions held with the Supreme Patriarch, whom the third President meets regularly, alongside the participation of former presidents, provide the opportunity to comprehensively discuss possible exits from the created severe situation and to propose realistic, considered solutions to our state and people.

Additionally, healthy political forces and public, political organizations should continue their daily efforts to keep the spirit of struggle alive in society.

President Sargsyan notes with satisfaction that the recent public appearances of his two colleagues—the first and second Presidents of Armenia—both keep the public discourse active on one hand and, on the other hand, keep the door open for further meetings and discussions.”
