New $1 Billion Military Aid Package from the U.S. to Ukraine: Bloomberg
The U.S. will announce today, September 28, a new military aid package of $1 billion to Ukraine. This information was provided by Bloomberg, citing two sources.
According to the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative (USAI), the funding will enable Kyiv to purchase weapons and military equipment from American defense contractors, the agency's sources reported. As a result, the total military assistance provided by Washington to Kyiv has reached $16 billion since January 2021, with the majority of this amount sent after February 24, Bloomberg notes.
Additionally, according to Reuters, the package will also include HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems, counter-drone measures, radar systems, and spare parts.
