Video: Armed Attack on Police Station in Mersin, Turkey

An armed attack has occurred on a police station in Mersin, Turkey, resulting in one fatality and injuries. According to the A Haber television channel, authorities have classified the incident as a terrorist act.

The incident took place around 23:00 local time (midnight Yerevan time) in the Mezıtli district of Mersin. Unknown individuals carried out the armed assault on the police station. Reports also indicate an explosion, executed using a remote-controlled improvised explosive device.

Turkey’s Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu stated that one police officer has been killed due to the terrorist act, and another has sustained serious injuries. “It is already known which terrorist organization is behind this,” Anadolu Agency quoted the Interior Minister.
