Seiran Ohanyan on Ter-Petrosyan's Proposal

I'm not willing to comment on what the first president said, but the fact is that Armenia is in a situation of capitulation, and this is not a state we found ourselves in by chance. This was stated by the leader of the 'Armenia' faction, Seiran Ohanyan, during a conversation with journalists at Yerablur.

'The history of recent years has shown that those who came to power have failed everything, both the negotiation process and the tireless work done over the past 30 years. It is that failure that led to the war. A significant part of our casualties could have been avoided if the state had ensured security. But we could also have had more casualties and still achieved victory. The pain lies in the fact that despite having this number of casualties, we faced defeat,' said Ohanyan.

He noted that after the defeat, the current authorities completely failed state governance. 'The first condition for getting out of this situation is to change these authorities; we need people who can conduct foreign policy. Our negotiator is currently under constant pressure. I know that the Armenian people are capable of bringing to power those who have a strong fist to get out of this hopeless situation,' emphasized the leader of the 'Armenia' faction.

When asked whom he sees as a replacement for Pashinyan, Ohanyan stated that he does not want to focus on individuals. Referring to Levon Ter-Petrosyan's suggestion that the opposition must dialogue with the authorities in the current situation and find joint solutions, Ohanyan said, 'What should we negotiate about? Should we go and stand next to him and see how he hands over Armenia, and be part of handing over Armenia?'
