US Congress Reaches Preliminary Agreement on $12 Billion Aid Package for Ukraine: Reuters

During negotiations, US lawmakers have reached a preliminary agreement to provide Ukraine with an aid package of approximately $12 billion, reports Reuters citing informed sources.

It has been clarified that the new aid package for Ukraine is part of a spending bill that US lawmakers are expected to approve this week. Earlier, US President Joe Biden had approved the allocation of a new military aid package of $675 million to Ukraine.

According to US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, the western assistance to Kyiv is intended for the long term.
