What Happened in the Village of Shaki, and Who Were the People That Entered the Village: Details
On September 17, at 14:40, an employee of a shop in the village of Shaki, Siunik Province, Armenia, reported to me that a suspicious individual in civilian clothes had entered the store. The person made purchases and, at the same time, asked the employee about the situation in the village, inquiring whether women and children had been evacuated and other similarly suspicious questions. Shaki’s administrative head, Ruben Manucharyan, shared these details on his Facebook page.
“I, R. Manucharyan, as the administrative head of Shaki village, taking into account the military situation in the country and being informed by the relevant authorities that diversionary groups have infiltrated Armenian territory, immediately pursued informing the local defense forces under my command to undertake defensive operations. A group of local defenders began to close the village's exits and entrances under the leadership of L. Israelian, while another group managed to uncover the hideout of the individuals who had entered the village with the aforementioned suspicious person through operational work,” he noted.
“Subsequently, the elimination and disarmament of the suspicious group were carried out by me and local defender R. Alaverdyan. We were also joined by concerned villagers who had heard about the suspicious group. After the elimination of the suspicious group, they were handed over to the relevant authorities, which determined that they were Armenian traitors.”
I would like to thank my fellow villagers for their vigilance and attentiveness and urge anyone who witnesses any suspicious incidents to contact me at the following telephone number: 094 44 75 64.”
