The Deadline for Launching the Online Duty-Free Trade Threshold Extended: SRC

The State Revenue Committee informs that, according to the decision adopted during the meeting of the Eurasian Economic Commission Council held on September 23, 2022, the online duty-free trade threshold for personal use by individuals (for goods transported via international postal shipments and/or by carriers) will remain in effect until April 1, 2023, instead of October 1, 2022.

It is recalled that, by a decision adopted during the meeting of the Eurasian Economic Commission Council held in Moscow on March 17, 2022, the online duty-free trade threshold for personal use by individuals was set at 1000 euros and/or 31 kg, instead of the previous 200 euros. This decision was published on the EAEU Commission's website on March 21, 2022, and came into effect ten days after publication, on March 31, 2022.

At the same time, the Committee reminds that according to the decision No. 107 of the Eurasian Economic Commission Council dated December 20, 2017, stricter norms regarding value, weight, and/or quantity can be established by the national legislation of member states, in which case the norms defined by national legislation apply. The national legislation of Armenia provides for a stricter norm of 200,000 AMD and/or 31 kg; therefore, the established duty-free threshold of 200,000 AMD and/or 31 kg will continue to apply. The SRC reports that these regulations pertain exclusively to goods for personal use.
