Soldier Missing Without Accountability Since September 15, Says Father
The Ministry of Defense (MoD) has informed us that search efforts are underway, and they will notify us if there are any updates. This was stated by the father of a soldier participating in a protest near the MoD during a conversation with journalists.
He mentioned that he has not heard from his son since September 15. 'My son has been serving at the positions in Kapan's Nerkhin Hand and has only completed two months of service. On the night of September 12, they took the soldier to the positions for engineering work, without any responsible officer present. The night of September 13 began the war, and we have not received any information since then. We go to the military unit, and there is no one to respond; they say the commander is at the positions, we go to the positions, and they say he has gone to a meeting, and we get no answers. We have not seen the commander, and the MoD tells us to wait. The search operations in the area where my son has been are being conducted not by reconnaissance units but by forest guards and locals familiar with the terrain, and we are not allowed to participate in the operations,' the soldier's parent stated.
He indicated that they have no expectations from the meeting at the MoD. 'My younger son and my sister's son are also serving in the same military unit; I plan to go and bring both of them back, let a police officer try to follow them,' said the soldier's father.
