Putin Grants Russian Citizenship to Snowden

Edward Snowden, a former employee of the National Security Agency and the Central Intelligence Agency, has been granted Russian citizenship. This was reported by TASS.

It is noted that the citizenship was conferred upon Snowden today by a decree from Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Recall that Snowden had published information on surveillance and data collection programs conducted by American intelligence services, which led to his prosecution by U.S. authorities.
