For the First Time Since 1991, the US Considers Selling Arms to Armenia: Armenian National Committee
For the first time since 1991, U.S. authorities are discussing the issue of selling arms to Armenia under pressure from bipartisan consensus in Congress, aimed at protecting the country from aggression and ethnic cleansing by Azerbaijan, supported by Turkey. This was reported by the Armenian National Committee of America on their official Twitter page.
It is important to note that Azerbaijani military units have been conducting intensive shelling towards Goris, Sotk, and Jermuk since September 13, utilizing artillery and large-caliber firearms. The opponent has also deployed UAVs.
On September 16, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced during a government meeting that the confirmed number of casualties on the Armenian side stands at 135. A ceasefire regime along the Armenian-Azerbaijani border was established starting from 20:00 on September 14, although it has been periodically violated by the Azerbaijani side.
According to the statement from the Security Council of Armenia, the number of killed and missing due to the large-scale aggression of the Azerbaijani armed forces has reached 207, including three civilians who died, while the whereabouts of two civilians remain unknown. Additionally, 293 military personnel and 7 civilians have been injured, and 20 military personnel are reported to have been captured.
