In 10 Months, Nearly Half a Million Dollars Spent on 20 Cars by Anti-Corruption Committee
The newly established Anti-Corruption Committee, led by Sasun Khachatryan, has taken over the property of the now-defunct Special Investigation Service, but continues to replace office furniture and make expensive purchases at the expense of the budget.
According to Tert.am, the committee's procurement plan reveals that the largest purchases are vehicles. There are cars, each costing 18.5 million drams.
In the last ten months, the committee established to combat corruption has allocated 189 million 300 thousand drams (about 455 thousand dollars) for the renewal of its vehicle fleet.
Thus, in December 2021, Khachatryan acquired 2 cars for 18 million 400 thousand drams, 7 cars for 64 million 400 thousand drams, and 2 cars for 37 million drams. In June 2022, he purchased 7 cars for 52 million 500 thousand drams and an additional 2 cars for 17 million drams.
It is worth noting that the government allocated 8 billion 203 million drams for the establishment of the Anti-Corruption Center in 2020, which is intended to be spent from 2021 to 2023.
