Why doesn't the Yerevan-Gyumri train continue to Spitak, Vanadzor, and Alaverdi? This is the question posed by blogger Alexander Lapshin in a video message, where he states:

“All the infrastructure is in place; there are rails and stations. What prevents the same train, which travels from Yerevan to Gyumri, from continuing its journey further north in Armenia? As you know, intercity transport in Armenia is horrific, almost nonexistent. Due to the lack of public transportation and unemployment, people are leaving the small towns of Armenia. Right before our eyes, once-great and developed cities like Vanadzor and Alaverdi are actually fading away,” Lapshin expressed.
