Pompeo Criticizes Biden: "His 'Outs' Weaken Us"

Former CIA Director Mike Pompeo has stated that the contradictory statements made by U.S. President Joe Biden and his officials regarding Taiwan are undermining the country’s unity. This was reported by RIA News.

“Biden's ‘outs’ regarding Taiwan weaken us. He says one thing and then allows the White House to contradict him several times,” he wrote on Twitter.

According to the former head of the U.S. intelligence agency, this inconsistency is not good for the United States.

Earlier, President Biden stated in an interview with CBS that Washington could enter into conflict on behalf of Taiwan in the event of armed confrontation between Taiwan and China. At the same time, his National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan later clarified that Biden’s comments regarding the possible use of American troops to defend the island were “hypothetical” and do not represent a change in traditional approaches to the issue.
