5 Out of 7 Injured in Car Accident on Yerevan-Meghri Road are Minors
Seven individuals were injured in a car accident on the Yerevan-Meghri highway and have been transported to the medical center in Yeghgnadzor.
According to the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Armenia, five of the injured are children. One of the children suffered a hip joint fracture and has been taken to the hospital, while the other four sustained minor scrapes.
Among the adults, one suffered a concussion, and another sustained a femur fracture.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations has reported that on September 23 at 14:36, a call was received at the National Crisis Management Center indicating that there had been an accident on the Yeghgnadzor-Malishka road in the Vayots Dzor province, and there were citizens trapped.
A firefighting and rescue squad from the regional rescue department was dispatched to the scene. It was determined that vehicles from the brands 'Infiniti' (driven by G. B., born in 1984) and 'Opel' (driven by S. M., born in 1958) collided at kilometer 124 of the Yerevan-Meghri highway.
Before the rescuers arrived, passengers from the 'Infiniti' car, L. Kh. (born in 1988), V. B. (born in 2006), A. B. (born in 2009), S. S. (born in 2014), and E. S. (born in 2016), were hospitalized at Yeghgnadzor Medical Center, where medical staff assessed their condition as satisfactory.
The rescuers assisted the drivers out of the vehicles and moved them to the ambulance. The injured were taken to Yeghgnadzor Medical Center, where their condition was also evaluated as satisfactory.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that the rescuers disabled the vehicles and shut off the gas cylinder valves.
