Five Women Detained from Yerablur Suffer Injuries

On September 21, Armenia's Independence Day, five parents— all mothers— who were detained from the "Yerablur" military pantheon have sustained various degrees of physical injuries. This information was reported by their attorney Vahan Hovhannisyan.

Hovhannisyan noted, "A report of the crime will be submitted to the Chief Prosecutor of the Republic of Armenia for the purpose of initiating proceedings under Article 441 of the RA Criminal Code (Abuse of official authority by an official or violation of official duties)." Earlier, it was reported that two mothers among the parents had sustained injuries.

It should be recalled that on the evening of September 20, the parents of the deceased were in Yerablur to prevent Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan from visiting there. However, on September 21, police used force to detain the parents, clearing the way for Pashinyan.

A total of 37 individuals were taken to the police station from Yerablur on the basis of Article 182 of the Administrative Offenses Code, for failing to comply with police orders. Later, the parents of the deceased servicemen were released.

Additionally, the actions of police officers at the military pantheon are under investigation following an order from the Chief of Police of Armenia.
