VIDEO: Sergey Shoigu's Interview on Mobilization After Announcement
Moments ago, it became known that Vladimir Putin has declared partial mobilization in Russia.
“Only those citizens who are currently in reserve will be conscripted for military service, primarily those who have served in the armed forces and have specific military specialties and relevant experience. Those conscripted for military service will undergo additional military training before being sent to units, taking into account the experience of special military operations,” stated the Russian leader.
Following this announcement, Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu elaborated on the statement during an interview with Rossiya-24, stating that Russian citizens in reserve are subject to conscription, while there is no talk of mobilization for students, and conscripts are not subject to mobilization.
Speaking about the ongoing special military operation in Ukraine, Shoigu noted that large and difficult combat work is being carried out, and soldiers are doing it with honor. He emphasized that they are fighting not so much against Ukraine, but against the collective West. According to him, the West is supplying Ukraine with a huge amount of weapons, nearly 70 military and over 200 civilian satellites, and the entire NATO group is acting in the interests of Ukraine, while Kyiv increasingly uses Western weapons to strike civilian populations.
Shoigu mentioned that Ukraine has already lost half of its army, with 61,207 dead and 49,368 wounded, while the Russian army has suffered 5,937 losses.
