VIDEO: Russian Helicopter Fighting Fires Crashes in Marmaris, Turkey
In Marmaris, a resort town in Turkey, 14 aircraft and 35 helicopters are engaged in efforts to extinguish a forest fire. This information was provided by the Turkish Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry.
"14 aircraft, 35 helicopters, and 472 firefighters continue to combat the flames," the ministry stated in its announcement.
It was previously reported that the outbreak began in the Yalancibogaz forest area. Wind has contributed to the spread of the fire.
Several Turkish and Russian media outlets have also reported that a Russian helicopter fighting the fires in Marmaris has crashed. It is noted that as a result of the accident, 2 people have died and 5 others have been injured.
