«It seemed that Pashinyan's real congratulation was to violently detain mothers» - Ioannisyan

Daniel Ioannisyan, the coordinator of the initiative “Informed Citizens”, writes:

“What happened this morning in Yerablur is a violation of several (a large number of) norms of the Constitution, the European Convention on Human Rights, and Armenian legislation. It also does not fit within the bounds of morality in any way.

On the occasion of Independence Day, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's congratulation (particularly the part regarding democracy) is entirely hypocritical if his subordinate police commit such illegal acts ahead of his visit.

It personally seems to me that Pashinyan's real congratulation was the violent detention of the mothers of the fallen and not the hypocritical text about democracy that is broadcast on H1.

The “Informed Citizens” initiative will file a report regarding this incident as a crime. I am confident that the police will not be punished, which once again proves that there is no independent judiciary system in Armenia.”
