Video: Gunshots Heard Inside 'Bank of Georgia', Hostage-Taker Arrested
The hostage-taker who stormed the 'Bank of Georgia' has been arrested, according to Sputnik Georgia. Gunshots were reported to have been heard inside the bank, and it is believed that special forces have entered the premises.
It has been confirmed that all hostages have been released, and footage shows the moment they were freed. Before the arrest, the assailant had lowered the ransom demand from $2 million to $1.5 million. During negotiations, police used the name David, presumably the assailant's name.
Earlier reports indicated that the man had not only demanded money but also a helicopter and the flag of Russia.
